To-Do Before Your First Pantry Visit

Pantry Shopping Information

Fixed Shopping Time

All pantry appointment visitors have a fixed-time duration to shop, depending on the model:

  • 10 minutes for the Mobile Food Pantry
  • 15 minutes for the FRESH Pantry

If you arrive late to your appointment, your shopping time will decrease. If you are a walk-in, you will be notified of how much time you have to shop.

Please be courteous and follow your allotted time.

One Basket Limit

Please abide by the one basket per student limit.

Please do not use your reusable bag to store additional items while you are shopping.

Please return our basket when you are finished bagging your items, and do not take it home with you.

Be sure to bring a reusable grocery bag to transfer your pantry items into.

Upon request, you can receive a pre-packed bag of shelf-stable goods, which must be taken as is. Please drop off unwanted items at the designated station outside at the patio.

Mindful Shopping

Please only take what you need and remember this is a community resource.

You cannot shop for a friend. If you have a friend or UCI roommate who needs support, they must visit the FRESH Pantry or Mobile Pantry and shop for themselves.

Pantry Eligibility

Please note that our program funding only allows us to support UCI Undergraduate and Graduate students who are enrolled in the current academic year.

As an emergency food service, UCI students may only access any of our pantry models once per week.

If you need additional support or are not currently enrolled as a UCI student, we recommend looking into alternative community resources that offer supplemental support. Here are a few links to look for community food distributions:
