Once you submit an application for CalFresh, the Orange County Social Services Agency has three weeks to contact you for the phone interview. Remember to answer all phone calls that you receive within the time availability that you submitted with your application. The area code could vary, or it could also be from a private number.
After completing the interview, OCSSA has two weeks to examine your case. You will receive a letter in the mail, notifying you whether the case has been approved or denied. A much faster way of checking your status is through www.mybenefitscalwin.org/.
You will receive your benefits card via mail, or can request to pick it up at the Social Services office in Santa Ana on S Grand Ave.
After 4-6 months of submitting your application, you are required to fill out and submit a Eligibilty Status Report (SAR7). You can do this online via your mybenefitscalwin account, or make an appointment at Fresh Hub for assistance with our CalFresh Team.
